How long does bute take to work?

Depends how its given, an injection will work within an hour. You should get a response within 4-6 hours of oral treatment at the loading dose. Depends on many variables........ One day's treatment isnt going to give a magical cure but should start to ease pain/control inflammation.
 
Thanks for that. I know bute isn't magical, it was just my way of putting it. My mare had her hooves trimmed today, and she has a old injury, I forgot to gice her bute last night, so I wondered if I gave her this morning/lunch if she would be okay this afternoon.
