how long does danilon take to work?

Taking the old boy and his 4yr old youngster friend to sponsored ride next week. Old boy has arthritic back legs but once he's worked for half hour he completely loosens up. Not worried about the ride itself as we plan to just walk and trot a little with no jumping as the youngsters first time out and just want her to soak up the experience, but was going to give my boy some danilon in the morning just to help him with the journey which will only be a max 30 mins and i've just bought a trailer for him so the ramp isn't steep and the ride is smoother!

How long beforehand do i need to give the danilon before travelling?
