Both Charlie and Pixie need their feed cutting back/changing but I buy in bulk and store it in a corn bin.

How long do you think I could leave the feed without it causing problems?

I usually has a sell by date on the bag. If it has a long enough date on it, then I would keep it in the bag until you need it.

That's the problem, it is already in a metal corn bin and I don't have the bags

Hmm. I think they tend to lose their nutritional value after the sell by date. I don't know for sure, but I guess it will be safe to feed as long as it isn't growing mould on it.

you need to watch out for harvest mites if it gets warm, if the feed looks a tiny bit dusty, and makes you hands smell a tiny bit like cats wee, they're in it!! I think they can possibly cause colic in some cases but not sure??

Even if they don't (I can't remember who told me that!) they can definitely spread through everything if left, opened or unopened bags!!... And make your feed room stink!! I don't think they can live in cubes though, so they would last longer??
