Jaspers foot it still bad.
The vets want a close eye kept on it, so much so that they are coming out everyday to re-poultice it, and get more pus out

It's been 8 days now since he first went lame. We still don't know how he did it. It must have been something building up for a while though as he went lame in an instant.
Pus is still coming out everyday.
Would you carry on like this or do somehting else?

If you have a farrier on the yard ask him to take a look at it, I would have thought it should be no more pus after 8 days - maybe the drainage hole isn't big enough?

Poor boy, I was in a similar situation with Star this summer and we did the same thing, took him about a month to come right though. He stood on a nail, I was worried sick

I think the farrier is due soon so we are waiting till he would be coming normally.
the drainage hole is quite small because it's right near his frog so the vet didn't want to cut much because it was hurting him a lot. there is a lot of pus though! seems neverending

oh poor boy. i hope it doesn't take a month! he's being kept in because it's too muddy and slippy and he hates it but vet said he can go out tomorrow for a bit in the least muddy field lol.

Usually a complete recovery and not too long with pus in the foot though. Shouldn't be too much longer. 8 days is a bit longer than usual but as you say the drainage hole is relatively small.
