I've always been told that as soon as feed is wetted it starts to depriciate nutrient wise but how long this take? If I wetted my girls evening feed in the morning by using a small amount of boiled water to steam it would it really lessen the nutrient content a lot by tea time?

If you're doing this because someone else feeds it would be better to leave her feed dry with a bottle with the right amount of water also in the feedbowl to be added at time of feeding. If you're doing it for convenience same applies. However I can't really imagine that your horse's feed regime is so finely balanced that a small amount of deterioration will be a problem.

Have been taking a bucket of feed to work then taking a flask of hot water out to the car each night but although its a big flask it doesn't get as damp as I would like, was just wondering how much the feed quality would change if I steamed it in the morning via kettle instead?
