Hi guys,
As per title really , I have finally managed to get my rubber for my menage. I got a reformed rubber which i think is slightly lighter than the tyre chunks its apparently supposed to stay on top.
I was just wondering how long it takes to what they call Settle? Its definatley more springy but it does still seem quite deep. I dont suppose the recent dry weather has helped as the silica sand is still quite dry.
Anything i can do to help it compact excpet hiring a roller!? And how long will it be like this for?

i would be interested in this, as our yard has just had a new school done, silica and rubber chunks the school is 80x35.
when the sand is wet it rides lovely but when dry it is too deep. is the key keeping it wet?
it is the silica thats waxed i believe. so would watering it help? we are in the same situation. the yard owner built this himself, we did not have a company do ours, but im sure if you call a company that builds a arena, they are usually more than happy to answer questions for you.

OP, do you have a sand and rubber manege? If yes, you need the sand to settle first before you add the rubber. My silica sand took 6 weeks to settle but that was in the middle of the winter with A LOT of rain falling on it. It was then rolled which brought all the water to the surface, 48 hours later that drained thoroughly, the rubber was added and it was ready to ride on.
