How long for a muscle strain to heal?

My horse came up lame on the left hind a week ago. The vet was out and she determined he was sore in his left inner thigh area adductor/left hamstring. He is getting Methocarbamol (muscle relaxer) twice a day and as well as Surpass on the affected muscles.

My question: How long does a muscle strain take to heal. Is there anything else I can do to help speed the healing along. As luck would have it I have a show in 2 weeks.

my horse has a suspected muscle strain to his back/pelvis and was also lame behind. hate to be the bearer of bad news but he's been off for 5 months now!!!! maybe yours isn't so bad tho. mine's had lots of physio as well
