Hi,
My mare has suffered rainscald which the vets have told me is a reaction to some of the chemicals used during her surgery - colic.
I have followed the vets instructions to the letter and the skin has healed over very well, albeit pink on a chestnut horse so I think I am going to have a very large white patch over her back! However the hair does not seem to be growing at all! The skin has looked perfect for approximately 10 days now and she is moulting elsewhere so am just really hoping its not damaged too much so that no hair grows there?! :S
It is right where her saddle goes so am worried that if it doesn't grow back then she won't be able to be ridden. She is such a sensitive thing and has some scars on her legs from other things where hair hasn't grw back along scar line, however never a big patch before?
Anyone any experience?
xx
