Once drained, he is sound, vet has recommended shoes/pads on him but hes only 2??????

Bloomin pus, can be such a pain can't it.
Your farrier is probably the best to advise you, but once he's sound, just keep an eye. Or perhaps plug the hole with a little cotton wool and stokholm tar?

ahhh thats all i need to do plug the hole!!!!
n (lol) the cat is free, just left a hole and want to stop ne thing getting in it!!!!!
