I was wondering how long people stayed at theirs? I have been at mine for 7 years. Sometimes it does seem like the grass is greener on the otherside, but I havent jumped ship yet.
I was there for 3 years, moved for a year and realised that I liked the turnout better at first yard so came back...... got the stable which I had always wanted too
The other day i was saying good and bad in everyone. I now realise i am a pot calling the kettle black. Livery yard - NEVER EVER AGAIN- I would kill someone. I have only ever been on livery yards where all the nasty bitches and thieves hang out. Still getting the knives out of my back. NO way, ever ever again.
18 months and I doubt very much I would ever leave.
My longest was 11 years and I only left as I moved to another part of the country.
Shortest, 3 weeks. Went to get pony in from field and YO's knew fence was down. Might not have been too bad except field was right next to the M6. Left there and then.
Ummh Ok now I dont want any hysterical giggling from those of you half my age. I have been at my yard now let me see um Arran Paperchase Daisy Jimmy Rhoda Gulliver thatll be 25 years then eek. One naughty little student pointed out that for what I have paid in livery I coud have bought my horse its own yard :-(
Been at mine around 18 months. Had Max for 15 months.
I bought a bad un, and then sent it back, so YO said she would keep my stable till i found a suitable mount. No charge. I turned up one day and she was stencilling "MAX" on my stable door, i said "oh, mate, it looks like we're staying"
Treated like one of the family, we help each other and it's fantastic.
Hope i never leave
moved last august and wish to god i had done it sooner
,great place,yo is only young but she is great, hopefully last time lad will have to move, think if owner sold up i would have to be 1st in line with the cash
Last yard 22 months, just moved to new yard will be 1 week tomorrow! Is a private place with only 2 liveries other than my 2 and 1 pony belonging to the owners. So far so good as I'm not a lover of big yards and I'm afraid my old yard was getting bigger and bigger since the building of a new outdoor school. New place only has 6 acres and 5 stables so I can be rest assured it won't get any bigger.
Been at this yard under a month. At previous yard a couple of years or so... PF has lodged all over the place. Lucky she's a friendly, confident sort of horse!
9 years for me, learned to ride there, leased ponies from there and then bought my boy from there! Will be very very sad to leave next month as we're off to somewhere a bit smaller.
Four years,at this yard - it has great facilitities but has grown alot over the past year and now has 40 horses compared to the 8 when i first started there!! two yards before that were for about 1 year each.
Three and a half years. My two are on full livery having always been on DIY, so it was a bit of a shock to my system handing over the reins to someone else. I've got used to it now and am happy with how they are kept and I feel I could say if anything was making me unhappy. And the facilities are brilliant!
Good livery yards are as rare as hen's teeth in these parts, so I intend to stay put.
Was at my first yard for about 17 years (learned there, worked there, borrowed liveries to compete then finally bought my first horse off of) but moved last year to my trainer's yard - it's a big busy yard, full of screaming kids, things sprout legs and certain clients think they know absolutely everything about everything (of course they don't!) but I've been there a year and I absolutely made the right choice. Moving is so hard, but once you actually do it you'll be glad you did and you'll know when you've found the right place!
