Current yard about 7 or 8 weeks. The one before that was about 3 weeks but Genie was not happy there at all and there were no facilities which we needed. Before that I was at a yard for 2.5 years, just over a year with Mazzie and the rest with Genie. I have no plans on moving anyytime soon!
I got George 2 1/2 yrs ago, I spent 5mths at the first yard but the owner turned out to be a complete nutter, 5mths at the next yard which was then sold. I then found my ideal yard and I will of been there 2yrs in March, and thankfully we are both very happy there and the moves were worth it.
I'm trying to remember if it's 7 or 8 years. I've had Archie 5 years but I can't remember if Eb had 3 winters there before he died or 2. My friend and I are now the longest residents, everybody who was there before us has left either as their horses died (lots of 20+ horses who had been there years when we got there) or because their owners have moved out of the area. It's the sort of yard you never move from unless you have to.
Eb was 24/25 when we went there and was going back to the yard he had come to as a 2year old. His old owners were who sold him as a 7 year old were still there with their other pony and they remembered each other. It was really sweet when they met but Copper dying was the start of Eb going downhill and he followed him a year later I sometimes wonder if he'd have been better off if he hadn't found Copper again.
Almost 18 years. Went there when children were 9 and 6 with a 12'2" pony and stayed through 2/3 and even 4 ponies once. Now just a new 3 year old who will hopefully event with my eldest daughter. It not that its so good but have never found anywhere better!!!
Almost 8 years. Took lessons there for a year (I'd been riding 5 years before that), kept my first horse there for 5 months, have had Dylan there for 6 and a half years.
