Just about 3 years! Finally got my own horse☺️
Got Judy when she was 19 she’s 22 now
I actually think she somehow looks younger? Even with her cute little grey hairs

The Appy was given to me in May 2015 (& I deserve a long service medal there!). The Ardennes joined her a few months later and sadly left this world September 2022.

Microcob was a lockdown project around April 2020. Supposed to be sold but she's a bit broken and too cute.

Baby cob April last year

I only had my first horse for six years, but then he was quite old when I got him. I had my pony for 19 years, and his companion has been on loan to me for 14 years. I have another pony on loan now to keep that one company, he belongs to a neighbour and has been around for 20 years so I know him very well.

Archie 18 years - the longest of all my horses, Wiggy just over a year. I never thought I'd have a horse longer than I did Ebony - he was with me from 13 to 27 (for both of us) but I owned him for 10 - but Arch has somehow done it. I never thought he'd make it to 29, I was told when he was 14/15 I'd be doing well to get him to 20 with his feet issues and melanomas! I still think of Eb as my horse of a lifetime - probably because Arch never hit the ridden heights due to his issues - but the closer I get to the end with Arch the more he's right there too. My friend owned Monty for 21 years. I was there the whole time for that and shared him officially for about 10 of those years. As much as I adored him and he's the best horse I've ever ridden, there was always something holding me back slightly from having that connection with him, knowing he wasn't 100% mine. Losing him was hard enough, god knows what I'l be like when I lose Arch.

I thought I'd just pop this here for anyone who's reading this thread feeling they've failed by not being able to keep their horses alive for longer.

That was sobering, thank you.
