ive finally got my bum in gear and will be sending off Ted's passport to have the ownership changed into my name tomorrow

He is registered with the Irish Horse Register (green passport) and i was wondering if anyone knows roughly how long i can expect this to take bearing in mind the passport is going to Ireland?

Mine were both back in about 2 weeks, although not from that PIO and not Ireland, I'd send it sooner rather than later as obv. Royal Mail get a bit snowed under at xmas time....

A few years ago I had to return a green passport - I had already spoken to them on the phone with a query, they were really helpful and the passport was back within just a few days - I was amazed!

yeah, irish companies in general are very quick to process things and post them back. I know a few ppl who have sent passports had them back within 5 working days.

Best of luck. I hope he has a name on his passport or they will charge you a fortune. What a waste of money and time passports are. What will it be like when we all get taxed for each animal we own.

I emailed them before I sent mine (a white one) sent it recorded and insured which cost over £5 and they told me to mark it as urgent and I got it back in just over a week. I sent a cheque for £5 GBP and you need to complete the form on their website.

ive completed the form and have 5 euros to send with it.
do i need to send an addressed envelope with it or do they take care of the postage back?
and Welly what do you mean by passport having a name on it?

I bought a horse with a green passport he is 10 years old and has had at least 4 owners (their names are in the passport) since he was 5. I sent my £5 only to have it returned saying that as the horse had not been named and that it would have to have a name and it would cost me £45. When I asked how the other owners had change ownership without naming him they had no answer. I am at a loss what to do why should I have to pay the higher amount. Its the principle of the matter I am mad with. Sorry pixxie its a sore subject with me at the moment

hey N, I sent Henry's back and only got it back about 2 weeks ago and they had it for over a month, they said that they were chocka at the moment. I sent mine special delivery as I also sent cash. I also had to pay 50 euro as Henry didn't have a name so I had to offer 4 suggestions and then they threw in change of ownership as a freebie. They are really lovely people and so helpful but they are just so busy, you just need to bear with them. Postage back to you is included in the price xx

hey M
