I rode Saturday and Sunday.
Before that was 3rd.
We're really lucky to have the indoor, but my boys have been out most days for a few hours a day.
Off riding tonight although a bit upset Im going to miss the new series of Come Dine With Me
same sunday the 3rd went to some clear round showjumping and nothing since, he has been going round on the walker although hoping to lunge later if the school hasnt frozen!!! This weather is not very good for our jumping practise that we need!!
Sunday 3rd as well. Am feeling very unfit although going for some relatively long walks but today the footpaths are impossible so have only done 20 minutes to the shop and back. DOH. Horse has been going out every day so far and is only in light work at present anyway so he probably doesn't mind one bit.
Last tues (the day before the big snow) was when I last rode.. so about a week.
Im itching to ride and I think I can when I see others riding in the snow but then I think with my 4yr old being fresh hes more likely to pratt around and slip and then theres snow shoes... Ive deicded to wait another week in the hope that the snow clears. Way I see it is I cant ride him properly anyway and its best he has 2 weeks off or whatever, than slip, hurt himself and need the season off...
So Irritating! Im keeping my self amused by curling up in front of a warm fire with the twightlight saga and a hot choccie. The best bit about not riding is not having to rush about to fit it in!
, but . . . .all is good my world has begun to defrost
! I reckon arena will be ridable tomorrow but our driveway has transformed from several inches of ice to several inches of ice with water on top . . eeek nearly fell on my bum several times walking to/from the bus today!
Yesterday. Am kidding myself that I'll be riding after work tonight, but the weather is miserable, I'm miserable and the horses are dry, clean and reasonably content. I have a sneaking suspicion that I may be going home and sitting in front of the log-burner with a glass of red in preference to practising canter transitions in the dark in horizontal sleet.

Nah, sensible if you ask me!
In answer to OP, about four hours! But normally lovely mare has becaome a grumpy pain in the posterior due to inconsistent work since before Christmas and not having ventured out of the indoor school for what feels like a lifetime.
Fingers crossed we don't get more snow overnight and I should be able to venture out for a hack tomorrow after my first exam!

I rode whilst it was snowing this morning
Joyous. Actually, I think that makes me slightly mad and you very definitely sensible
OK, just to let you know I've hit a compromise. Will lunge instead (possibly with aforementioned glass of red in one hand
): less mucky tack to deal with, less effort required on my part from tired, aching muscles and horse can practise canter transition without the handicap of me on his back.
In my defence I did ride in all the horrible weather, I've just hit a bit of a brick wall today

hahhahah I do this especiallly if I have got evrything else sorted in the morning so I know I don't technically HAVE to go back to the yard. I spend all day having an internal battle of will with myself
usually my lazy will wins, for a lazy will it is pretty active!!!!
Rode this afternoon and have ridden every day just mainly walking round the fields on the farm. The turnout field got v hard quickly and was no good for turning out and have an extreme hate of having them in 24/7 so made she she has had at least an hours walk exercise everyday. Last proper riding was last Thursday when I managed to get to an indoor school.
Last year!!! Well 31st december, managed a couple of lungeing sessions last sun/mon but nowt since then!!
Roundpen is usable now so will get the pessoa out tomorrow morning before the next lot of snow arrives tomorrow night, seriously bored of snow now!! We'd better get a bloody good summer to make up for all this!
New Years Eve - I hate it. I'm so so bored, I was having a whinge about it to my instructor though and as she (quite rightly) pointed out at least I don't have a string of event horses to fitten several of which need to be fit enough to run at 3* fairly soon
