we havent for the last 10 days due to snow and ice.can only normally ride at weekends in winter due to work and school so out of action for christmas hols up to now.the snow is thawing but the hill we live on is north facing and still a sheet of ice.i had thought it was warming up but looking at next weeks weather is not good.when did you last ride?
 
On sunday as am very lucky to have a school with an excellent surface but am now at home and have left the horse on full livery (so is being exercised) for 2 weeks, looking foward to going back though!

It was 2 weeks ago that I last rode. It is so frustrating - I have been off work all this week but I couldn't ride because the lane outside the yard has been too icy ( I don't have a school and the field is a real no go area!).
Hopefully I will ride tomorrow though - it looks like everywhere has thawed!
 
Lunchtime!!! Hurray! My school never freezes, but it's had too much snow on it to be useable for the past 2 weeks, plus the field has been like a sheet of ice & not rideable over to get to my school.

Could have ridden yest but was expecting it still to be too snowy/icy, then by the time I'd realised that it was fine, it was too late to fit in a ride before departing for lunch.

Waited til the warmest temp this afternoon when everything was nicely dripping and went for a hack round the roads that have been cleared. Had to go on the verge for some small parts of the hack, but nothing too much. Still lots of snow around too, so nic and pretty

Before that I hadn't been for nearly two weeks!
 
Once since about April - and then only to test that injured horse was mending well. she is turned away to have a baby now and finish healing.

next expect to ride in January 2011 (frustrated, moi?)
 
Managed a 15 minute walk around on my 2 today in the still partially frozen arena. Feet were balling with frozen sand even in that short space of time. Had to manually clear a path way in the frozen ice/snow from the top of the yard to the school before even attempting to get on. Before that it was about 9 days ago since I rode.

Typical I also have 2 weeks off work for the purpose of doing some day time riding and hacks and wasted a week of it with the snow and ice. Looks like I might get till Wednesday to ride now until the next lot of white stuff arrives, according to the weather forecast.
 
I rode yesterday, and tbh if it wasn't for the fact she hadn't been ridden since last sunday, stuck in her box then hauled 200 miles to yorkshire I probably wouldn't have bothered.

Dispite all of the above she was beautifully behaved and had a 5 mile hack yesterday running the gauntlet of snow, ice and black ice..... understandably she didn't get hacked this morning
 
Hacked out this morning! Yey. The roads were finally good enough. She was full of beans when I warmed up walking around the arena while waiting for another livery to be ready. A bronc and a couple frog leaps. Luckily she chilled out when we left the yard. Outdoor school is finally thawing out and it was quite mild today. Although next week the temp is going to drop again

2 weeks ago - weather has been crap, and I'm bored of the school!! Still, not long now till clocks go forward!
 
About 2 months ago.Most of yard have given up trying if its not raining and leaving all fields and school waterlogged for days its high winds now the snow and as don't get to ride til evening its dark :
You get one day a fortnight that ok if lucky at mo!!
 
Today - thank god for finally letting me find a lovely yard with 2 indoors & 2 outdoors that stay perfect for most of the year

YO has let us all use the small indoor almost all of the time as lessons are off for a fortnight so it's brilliant!
 
I rode my mare yesterday for the first time in 5 months.we went on a long hack and she was brilliant.i havent yet used the menage as the weather has been so bad.and it wasnt that cold here today.
 
I havent ridden in over 2 weeks and its driving me mad! I normally ride twice a day but you still cant even get to my menage for the ice!
 
I rode yesterday. My horse was iced into her stable for about a week so am now dealing with extremely fresh fizzy horse

I took her down the beach yesterday to burn some energy and will probably be doing the same tomorrow
