How long to leave sand/ carpet fibre surface to settle?

Our yard arena has just been finished today Owners read somewhere that we might need to leave it a week to settle! It has been watered and rolled! They did then say today that we could use it if we wanted but I would rather wait if it does need leaving to settle as don't want to spoil it. Would appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance.

It probably needs a decent amount of rain on it before it settles enough to use, watering is unlikely to be enough, in this weather it will dry out very quickly.

If its anything like our sand and rubber arena... An eternity. Apparently sand takes ages to compact, ours has been watered, rolled and harrowed relentlessly and is still like a desert sand dune with a bit of rubber on top. It was starting to firm up and then we had the heat wave which has dried it out again...
