how long walks

my puppy is 5 months old he is a gsx staffie,just want to know how long can i walk him i take my other staffie out for about 1 hour a day she is 5 years old is that to much for the puppy

Probably still a bit too much. I'd be inclinced to take out to a secure off lead area and allow free play once a day, and add another 15 min lead walk per day adding an extra 5 mins every two weeks or so to build up nice and slowly. By gs do you mean german shepard?

As with SusieT. Don't overdo things - always remember even if the dog 'can' do loads of exercise in the first year, doesn't mean they 'should' and lots of impact (jumping over obstacles, in and out of the car, off furniture, up and down stairs) in the first year, particularly in large weight-bearing breeds (of which your dog is half) can store up lots of problems for later life.

At this age walks are for socialisation and fun, not exercise, do plenty of ball games, brain training, thinking stuff!

Have you looked into a training class? He's a mix of one very intelligent, one very....clownish :p and stubborn breed so you might have your work cut out :)
