How long would you expect zips to last

The zips in my equitector boots have gone and its costing me eighty pounds to replace them. The awful thing is I am going to a show tomorrow so have to borrow a pair and I have only had the boots 13 months. How long would you expect the zip to last and should i bother getting them fixed or buy another boot?

i hate zips, they always break, would personally get new boots without them.

My Ariat's lasted about 6 months, my F.Fabbri long boots about 8 months. My Toggi cheapy Ariat copies are still going strong after a year! Suppose it depends on how much you wear them. I generally try to go for the wide toothed YKK zips as they are much stronger.
