How long would you leave a lame dog?

Moderately to severely lame, no swelling or sign of injury or reaction to any palpation of any spot? No previous history.
How long would you leave that if it was your dog?

Maybe a day or two of rest, then if that didn't see any significant improvement it would be vet time. I do tend to whip Hen to the vets fairly sharpish though

If the dog was still weight bearing I would wait up to 5 days with strict rest, the lurchers are always doing them selves mild injury when they are hooning around, esp if I could manipulate and get no reaction, my rotti was seen immediately because I knew it was her cruciate, it's an entirely different limp and very reconisable, she was then put on pain relief for a further 3 days and X rayed, which indeedy showed she she has a bust cruciate, so she has on op on the 7th of Jan, and she will hop till then, but she is also on strong pain relief.
