How long would you travel a horse for?

I really want to take Toto to the beach, but the nearest one would about about 2 hours to get to. Is this too far? He travels reasonably well in the lorry and when we bought him he traveled 3 hours home in a trailer no problems. How far would you travel to ride on a beach?

Not too far at all. I know horses who spend eight hours on a trailer to get to competitions. Plus he is going to have a nice fun time at the beach

have done 4 hours for MK3DE but regularly do 2-3 hours for eventing

I travelled mine for 8 hours from Surrey to Wales, with a small leg stretch in the middle.... 2hrs is fine!! We take ours to a beach about that time away and they are still rareing to go when we get there!!

Wow this makes me feel better i was worrired about 2 and half hours to the beach and 3 and half to MK3DE but i wil stop worrying as much now !

I have travelled my pony from my house to ferry, (1.30hours), ferry to scotland, and then from scotland through england and wales to get to sansaw

so i think you will be fine for 2 hours!

I took mine to the beach ove rthe weekend, and it is about 2 3/4 hours away. She was fine, and fresh as a daisy when she got off the lorry!
