How long would you wait for a reply from breeder/seller/dealer?

I requested some info on a couple of horses a breeder has available for sale on weds last week and to be fair I did get an email with some pics (just pics and only one horse) and was told I would receive the info over the weekend. I emailed back saying could she forward info when she can.

The weekend passed and nothing, I texted on Monday morning saying did she manage to forward anything and still no reply, nothing. Not even a courtesy text to say they knew I was waiting for info!

It's now a week since I spoke to them and sent a text this morning asking them to forward info as I'm missing out on another horse I like (this horse is miles away however and would rather buy closer to home...) and still no reply!

I don't want to seem naggy or like I'm pestering but really would have expected something back!

Do people not want to sell their horses?

Tbh if it were me I'd give up - if they're that hard to contact when you're a buyer, what would they be like if you had a problem? So many horses around, not worth chasing up someone who doesn't seem that keen to sell.

I'd give up and assume they've sold the horses. No point in missing out on another horse in the meantime.

You could always pick up the phone and have a conversation. I have found a lot of dealers notoriously bad at email/texting etc. but perfectly contactable by phone as they prefer the old fashioned ways of communication.

ETA they may get huge numbers of email requests/texts from people who they deem to be timewasters. Of course I'm not saying you are! but can see it from their POV

If you really are interested in a particular horse then phone them & speak & ask everything you want. They will realise that you are serious about the horse as you have bothered to actually call. Too many people email sellers with questions & never have any intention of buying. They are such a waste of time & are generally trerated as such. A telephone call is a much better way of finding out information & voicing an interest in a horse. :)

I have phoned them- ohoned them the first time to ask re the horse I wanted which apparently has been sold but they had others in that price bracket and of that type- that's when I was told they'd email me info over the weekend. Today I tried calling the number on the website but the phone number no longer works... I think they are probably fairly rubbish at updating things. I would never just text or email first, otherwise it could be some random scammer.

Literally just got a text reply! Woohoo!!!! Fingers crossed I can set up a date to view them.

Best to call and speak to them.
If you like the sound of them. Them book a time to visit.
Sometimes people don't have time for texts and emails or are phobic!
They probably have other people calling and asking to visit so favour them instead.
