will it take to grow a pony's mane from about 3 inches, sticking up still after being hogged to full scale traditional mane?

His mane was hogged in the summer but his forelock was left and is right down to his nose. Tail is very long (almost to floor), feathers are growing V well after being clipped BUT mane looks dreadful!!!

took about 11 months for my hogged mare to grow a mane to about 8 -10 inchs long

I was hoping Chex mane would grow nice again after being hogged in them summer, but ony the top half grew back! Oh well, hogged he stays. I would guess about a year, seems to grow about an inch each 6 weeks or so.

I think it depends on the breed, our clydesdalexshire took three years to grow hers from hogged to well below her neck(it now gets horribly in the way when you try to fasten her rugs front straps). Her feathers had to be clipped off this August for itchy heels they are now about 1/3 of the lenght they were before being clipped. Hope this helps.
