How loyal is your horse!

I managed to fall off Herbs for the first time out on the forest today, and I was on my own. It was a silly spook when he slipped and I came a cropper. Anyway he cantered around for a bit with the New Forest Ponies, then wondered what on earth he was doing and stopped, stood there looking very confused!

I thought he was about to trot off home and it was rather a long walk so I called him, he turned round to me (away from home), whinnied then came flying up to me, skidded to a halt right by me as if to say " Ahh I wondered where you had gone!" At this point I completely forgave him for dumping me!!

Very loyal...everyone else at the yard has difficulty catching her...me I can just walk straight up to her and she puts her headcollar on herself. All others she makes walk for at least 30 minutes ...well they need the exercise don't they???

Well I was quite surprised given it's a route he knows well,so knew which way was home. I was fully expecting to have to walk!
 
He is loyal to an extent on the yard and in his field but i think it may be whole different story if i were to come off out on a hack.

Wellllll George is quite loyal. He doesn't pull me around but when my husband leads him, he tries to walk off with him! My husband came off him the other day and I was stood at the bottom of the field. George came cantering up to me and stopped right in front of me. My husband was left flat on his back in 3 feet of wet grass!

I am yet to find out about Lanky.

It sounds to me like you've got a very sweet horse!

to my dad!!! Don't get me wrong she's completely loyal to me...but then when dad's around i may aswell not exist!!! she adores him! if he's not around then i'm no. 1
 
orrrr bless him, that is so sweet, hope your not nursing any bruises as for Mack, I'm yet to be dumped so I'll let you know when it happens. (gosh I shouldn't of said that should I, I'm bound to come off now!)

Before buying my horse, i had a share that would buck me off and then bu88er off home without me. Had to call yard on several occasions to get someone to look out for coming down the road, grrr.

I have fallen off Sam more times than I care to remember and he would always be gawping down at me as if to say "what are you doing down there, come on get back on!"
Very loyal. He follows me the field when i am poo-picking too. Which although is very sweet, is a bit annoying when he gets in the way.
I sound like a really bad rider. LOL

New horsey - Rusty - have had him 6 months and so far only fell off once. Was in the school and I was clinging on to reins so he didnt go anywhere but I imagine if we were out, he would disappear!
 
loyal to the yard, their stables and dinner (and possibly the YM)..... they proved that when they took off home and left me and the then sharer in for a long walk.
 
Fudge is very loyal, he comes to call from the other side of a very large field, usually looks after me and when I fell off and broke myself he stayed with me despite the horse I was with being over at the other side of the field we were in.
Lady is kind of loyal, doesn't come to call, runs away if you fall off but has a special whicker that she only does to me

I have been lucky, I have had my boy now for about 5 years and only come off him twice, both times on a hack and both times he buggered off home, leaving me to untangle myself from brambles or run up a rather large grassy hill, and I dont 'do' running! Both times I have found him next to the field gate grazing without a care in the world!!!
 
LOL.. Last time I fell off my horse was about a year ago when we were jumping. He galloped round the arena without me, I also fell off (flew off!) when we were out galloping he slammed of his brakes at a full gallop. He would have b*ggered off with out me I am certain..
 
my old pone who we have had to retire now used to stop as soon as i fell off and just look down at me. i always know it was my fault when i did fall off becasue he never did anything nasty and when i was on the floor he would look at me las if to say 'what are you doing down there!' he was an angel and still is!!!! love him soo much..
 
i was leading my pony through a field and the field boss went for us, teeth and feet flying, my big mare went between us and wouldn't let it near us and held it off til i got me and the pony out of the field. i was so proud of her.
 
Amber, depends what mood she is in! A couple of weeks ago, a horse from the field next door got into our field while I was there. They had a spat, then I managed to get Amber into a stable (the boys were in already)and chase other horse into the school. Amber tried to climb over the stable door and after that refused to leave my side.If I moved towards the shool where the escapee was, Amber would get inbetween me and the fence.

That sounds a bit silly, but I really do think she was trying to protect me from the other horse.

Today, she didnt even care that I had polos.
