How many bales of hay can you fit in a fiat 500?

Is there absolutely nowhere you can store 20? Do you have a garden? If so palettes on the lawn or patio, bales on top, throw a tarp over.fetching a couple of bales at a time could use a lot of petrol and prove costly.

Nope, live in a flat with a shared garden and maybe got room for 4 bales in the shed. Have room for up to 12 at the yard but I've still got 6, trying to keep it topped up so I don't end up running out as I've got a cushings/lami welshie who while she doesn't eat a lot, haylage id rather avoid if I can. She's getting straw too, so the hay I'm using is minimal. Just frustrating as I normally have a supplier who drops 3 x a week to the yard, but ran out of small bales a month ago 🙄

That's what I was thinking too, but don't know if that car actually has a boot 😁

Surprisingly roomy boot actually, would fit a bale side ways ... whether the car itself is wide enough is the question 🤣
I got a bale of shavings and 2 wood pellets in with the back seats down 🤔

No idea with that kind of car. I got five large small bales into my Saab 9-5 combi, it's pretty large. When I, as a fairly young individual, was buying a car, I was asked if I really needed a combi. Yeah, I do. It's really useful, actually. Never had humans in the backseat, though.

A friend used to get a bale off me for her guinea pigs every month. Put it in a duvet cover and propped it up in the back seat of her old soft-top Megane... often wondered if she ever got stopped on the way home

Friend of mine gutted her garden shed for hay storage and the husband just to had to like it or lump it 😂

i’ve got minimum 4 in one before now, there’s actually less room in my a1 even though it’s a bit bigger, as it’s not as tall! definitely put them in an old duvet cover, or you’ll be finding it in every nook & cranny of you & the car🤣

Could you take a big bale of someone would deliver one of those? Or split a delivery with someone else on your yard?

I previously managed to fit 2 bales of shavings into a 2 seater convertible. You'll either need to accept your car will forever more have hay everywhere or wrap it up well if you're moving it though.
I think I would go for back seats down and passenger seat pulled forwards. Then you'll fit one bale in behind the passenger seat longways. I would then split the second bale and bag up a couple of slices in each bag, and stack them in the space next to it behind the driver's seat, so I reckon you'll get 2 in. It's a good job you have a small pony and they might last you a bit longer, can you imagine if you had a horse going through a bale a day 🥴

Maybe get some ton bags (about £4 from Travis Perkins) and half fill each - one in the front, 3 in the back and 2 in the boot… that’s 3 bales. Challenge!

I think I'd struggle to get more than 3 in my Aygo - two in the back and one in the front passenger side.
My ancient Citroen ax was much better as you could flip the back of the back seat right off and sort of fit it in the rear footwell to flatten the whole back like a van. Definitely had a washing machine in that at one point

I used to have large round haylage delivered in bulk and stored it in the back garden An open bale would either go in the garage, because who puts a car in the garage, or the shed.

And the tricky thing is, do you need to decide on the number before you go to the till and say “I’d like x bales please”
Don’t want to be bold, ask for 3 and discover the limit is 2.
But what if you ask for 2 and find you have space for a 3rd, then you have to go back and ask for another.
It’s a tough decision.

I've always just asked if I can pay once it's loaded, or I get the least possible then go back and get more. I can get 11 small bales of haylage on the back seat of my golf which surprised me (the dog's in the boot). I bought 9 first, which was my estimation, then went back for the other 3.
