Numpty question but how many bales of shavings do you roughly use for making the firs bed in an empty stable?

I am using straw but for some reason it is not agreeing with me as it is making me very chesty so thought I'd switch to shavings.

Hahaha thats what I was thinking. Oooh the stable is not huge so perhaps may try 5/6 then!

A normal 12 x 12 should need 6 bales to start.

But I would like to point out that shaving have shot up in price and are becoming hard to get at the building trade have stopped so no wood needed hence the bye product will not be made. I've had to go onto shredded cardborad squares. I think shavings have gone upto about £7.50 a each and I'm paying £5.65 for the cardboard.

I get my bits from countrywide and straw is delivered so haven't seen cardboard bedding. Numpty q again but where do you get it from- your normal bedding supplier?

Is anyone getting pallets of 30 cheaper? We're in South West and looking into maybe getting a pallet to save money? We currently pay just over £7 for a bag of shavings. Wasn't sure if a company would deliver for just one pallet?

We are struggling too! I have just bought the local shop out of easy bed!!!!! they had limited shavings and are struggling to get hold of it!

Id say about 6/7 for a new bed in a 12X12
