How many bridleways do you have in your area

We don't have many bridleways . . . . we have the whole of the New Forest - 92,000 acres!

Ah, I expect that was Southam riding school, think it's just a livery yard now.

Have a couple of bridleways but a bit disjointed. Have to cross busy A roads to link up. But hundreds of perfectly placed footpaths & one in particular would really link up a few via small B&C roads.
Has anyone ever been successful getting a footpath changed to bridleway open to both walkers & riders? as this solution would be a massive help to a number of local liveries & riding school.
I'm consulting with the rights of way dept of the local council - but any top tips?
I've also got the tel number for local Bridleway Officer. Or is there a right way to approach a landowner who might be able to help??

Hackedoff - that looks gorgeous, I used to live in Mossley many years ago but I didn't have a horse in those days. I do remember how close it was to some really lovely countryside.
