Im going to Champs of GB at Cricklands in August. Ive qualified in the 2'9 and 3'0.
I decided to do the 3'0 at Champs to challenge myself, not the horse as he can do it with his eyes shut.
Last night I was practising at 1.05m and a few 1.10m and there weren't any problems, and this weekend Im taking my ned to Aintree to do the 2'9 and 3'0 unaff classes. Last night I was supposed to be practising at 95cms but my sneaky instructor kept putting the jumps up to prove I could do it without even noticing!
But now Im getting cold feet and thinking I should do 2'9 and the 3'0 at Champs - use the 2'9 as a warm up.... but would this be too much for him? It would mean him doing 2 x 2'9 and 1 x 3'0 courses (with a jump off in 2 of them if I go clear, so potentially 5 rounds of jumping a day over 2 days).
Not sure what to do but I gues Im just looking for reassurance that its ok to do that 2 days running..... and he would also be jumping one round on the friday.....
He's 10 and is fit as a fiddle ........?? Lots of ppl do 2 classes but Ive only done this once and found my horse was a bit knackered but she was full of nervous energy - this horse practically sleeps in between classes and saves energy!
Please help ASAP as I need to make my decision!!
