... and how many do you usually manage?!

I managed to squeeze 3 in by end of april, then haven't been out since due to cancellations, exams etc. Have a PC event this weekend, and just slipped a last minute entry in for Aston UA next month. Having not been out for so long I hope I remember everything!!

Will take stock after Aston (which I hope will be a nice run for him as the course suits), but have a couple more events in mind for sept/oct. Does anyone know if they'll be running the UA at tweseldown in october again? :)

none for me yet this year :( every event I have entered has been cancelled due to the weather. Horse was kicked for one other so had to WD and that was the one event I have entered this year that ran.

Getting fed up

Mini TX has done precisely nothing. Mainly due to lameness inthe early part of the season though. Were going to do Wellington, but the word on the street is that the course hasnt been built yet due to bad weather. Would like to do Pontispol and Monmouth, but we are away on holiday for over 2 weeks in September, and the only one she may get to do is Larkhill. I personally think she wont bother, as it is worth the hassle of going xc schooling etc, just to do one event?

However, in the meantime, we are off to the PC National Champs next month as Mini TX and her team mates are doing Open Dressage after their win at Area 3 weeks ago, so thats some small consolation. We always love going to the Nationals and hope to bump into some HHOers there as well. no doubt.

Oh well, I suppose it was the best season for the horse to go lame on, dont you. Here's to next season then!

I've also managed 3 all athe beginning. His last 6 events have cancelled and then 2 that didn't cancel recently I had to WD from due to a bruised sole. And now skipton has cancelled!

I guess I must be lucky in the area I live and event.. I have competed at all 6 events I have entered in 2012..
Munstead BE
Mattingley UA 1
Tweseldown BE
Stonar School BE
Mattingley UA 2
Iping BE

I'm based in the South. Seems like those in the Midlands/North have had it the worst :(

I did quite well early on, then tailed off:

March: Oasby, Lincolnshire, Belton, Breckenborough
April: Eland, Kelsall
May: Bishop Burton
June: Hexham, Draycott
July: Gt Witchingham, Hopetoun

From memory I was also entered for Northallerton, Richmond, Aske, Eland (2) and Malpas which all cancelled. Maybe more, but my memory seems to have blanked them!

I haven't done too badly, my first season eventing so can't comment on how it compares to other years!

March: Poplar Park and Munstead
May: Borde Hill
June: Stratford Hills
July : Iping

Didn't enter anything in April as nothing close enough. Keysoe cancelled and was ballotted from Lt Downham in May. Brightling cancelled in July.

Ah so maybe I'm not doing too badly then- poor you TX and GG, that's really annoying. Atleast you've got the champs to look forward to though! It's just been weird having such a massive gap in the middle, although last year was my first 'season' and I think I only did 5 or 6 events. I'm a lightweight compared you Gamebird!! :p

I've managed 4 BE events and 2 RC, 4 of those have been in the last 4 weeks though!!! BE wise I've withdrawn from 1 through injury lost 2 from cancellations and WD this weekend from Somerley as have RC nationals next week and thought 6 in 6 weeks is excessive by anyone's standards especially as nationals were meant to be long format!

I know I'm lucky compared to some and now I've done a fair few in recent weeks don't feel hard done by any more. I do though now only have 3 or poss 4 BE events left for the entire season if I get in to all and they all run.

I've managed 5 BE events so far. Somerford, Breckenborough, Draycott, Eland pre the rain, then Burgham after the rain. My horse was injured at the same time we had all the rain, so actually it worked in my favour as I got refunded for the events I had already entered!

I got to 5
March :Tweseldown/Swalcliffe
April: Larkhill/Ascott under Wychwood
May: Tweseldown

Withdrew from MK in May due to torrential rain.

Then horse went lame so withdrew from Borde Hill, Eridge, BCA, Rackham and Tweseldown. BCA/Rackham abandoned anyway so at least got some money back. Horse is off for rest of season but sounds like I'd already managed more than some people might get to all year.

PS - Wellington BE is set to run at the moment. Building works back on track apparently.

We were not ready to event until May with the new mare
May - Aston Unaf
June - Lt Downham X and Solihull RC (BCA and Milton Keynes entered but abandoned)
July - Burghley PC and this weekend Carlton

So three affiliated and two unaffiliated.

We also did the event training day at Aston this week which was great as it gave them the chance to SJ and run round the XC at BE100 before actually entering at that level.

I regret the purchase of a full year membership for the mare that is for sure!

We have been really lucky so far and got to all 8 that we entered (Tweseldown, Munstead, Larkhill, Tweseldown, Hambleden, Ascott, Nunney, Dauntsey) and we are at Somerley Park this weekend.

I dressage write so I think that helps us through the ballots as well.

Feel very sorry for some people who have been really unlucky with abandonments. Hope that's all behind us now and we have good conditions for the rest of the season :)

I've been very lucky and not had any cancelled, just dodged the bullet at Rackham by running on the Sat. Others that ran were Swalcliffe, Tweseldown and Iping.

Feeling very sorry for those that have not had any runs yet. Very lucky around this way that the majority of the events are on chalk on sand.

I've managed 4 BE Breckenbrough, Richmond, Bishop Burton & Eden Valley

And 3 RC inc BRC FOH

Off to ALW on Thursday for BRC Horse Trials Champs :-)

So not doing to badly considering, had to withdraw from Burgham due to a minor injury which was annoying but thats horses for you. Cancellation wise lost Northallerton & Aske

2, Howick and solihull; 5 abandonments and now homme house is off too!! Its not like we have much choice in wales as it is with a grand total of aprox 4 events in the season!!!

I've managed to have a reaonable year so far, compared to last year, when I only completed 2.

Didn't do any in March as thought weather would be foul :p.
April Tweseldown u/a, MKEC
May Little Downham
June Eridge
July Tweseldown and Carlton tomorrow.

Withdrew from ALW u/a, Keysoe cancelled and withdrew from ALW in may.

Entered for Purston Manor and Shelford Manor, then hopefully Keysoe, Burnham Market, Oasby and Norton Disney.

Although who nows what the rest of the year will bring.....
