I was thinking about this earlier and i would probly say i ride mine no more than 6 hours a week, which dosnt seem like much at all-this is mainly schooling-jumping and the the odd hack and starting to do shows. If i had better hacking i know i'd ride out alot more but its pretty much all on the road :( . Do you think 6 hours is enough to keep a pony reasonably fit? when we do schooling and jumping he works pretty hard but then hacking is for a relaxing walk and the odd canter when I can. So how bout you? :D

*About* 2 hours a day I'd guess?...so about 14 hours a week approx, with the occasional day off/or short half an hour ride/lunge instead.

When nice weather, usually do about 2 or 3 longer hacks of about 3 hours-ish each week too.

I always underestimate how fit B actually is I think, after I realised the other day on mapmyrun out 'short' hack is 5 miles! Which we generally do most of it in canter.
For jumping, usually do about 3 times a week [at about 3ft-3ft9ish usually and sometimes a XC one instead of SJ] followed by a hack to finish. Other 3 days are schooling followed by a hack. Other day is usually just a quiet walkinghack round the farm to chill and enjoy!
He's a TB, after each session he's only ever slightly damp just where his girth is and never blowing or raised breathing much....so must be fairly fit!
