are YOU wearing in this cold weather to keep warm. Not only do I have two horses of my own to look after but I work at a well known stud in my area where there are 50 horses to feed and water etc So I'm always outside. In this bitterly cold weather I start the day wearing a thermal vest, a polo neck sweater, a fleecy type of hoody, a puffa gilet and my Musto snug coat on top, Plus first thing I have a wooly hat. My gloves seem to be permanently moulded to my hands at the moment and I also wear two pairs of socks.

When I start the mucking out at work, I usually take off my hat and top coat but everything else stays on! Then periodically throughout the day the coat goes back on and off again depending on what I'm doing.

I'm also outside with horses all day so I wear many many layers. This is fairly typical:

2 x sleeveless thermal vests
2 x long sleeve thermal vests
polo neck
long sleeved top
2 x microfleeces
hoody
big fleece
yard coat

thermal socks
long socks
thermal trousers
winter breeches
rambo fleece lined full chaps
mountain horse rimfrost boots

polo pancho
thinsulate hat
ski hat on top
seal skinz gloves

I peel layers off all over the yard while mucking out but spend the afternoon putting them back on.

Not many!

When i do the 3 boys in the morning (and it was minus 9 with me this morning) I wear a summer sleeveless vest, tshirt, fleece jumper, jog bottoms and my riding socks. When i actually muck them out i take my fleece jumper off as i get far too hot. I must admit i very rarely feel the cold, only when i i'm ill do i feel it.

I wear so many interlocking layers that I have to give myself advanced warning if I want a wee

We have freezing fog today, and that seems to get into your bones however many layers you have on

I wear a thermal vest, a vest top, a long sleved roll neck jumper, a t-shirt, a fleece, a gilet and big builder jacket from the OH witch makes me look huaaage! but its so warm:D
A hat, thermal pants, jods/tracksuit then full chaps and 4 pairs of socks and 2 pairs ofgloves.
Once i am mucking out etc.ido take some off

I've got it sussed now

I have a wooly hat
T-shirt
Jumper (currently an animal furlined hoody)
Body warmer
Coat
Gloves only 1 pair as can't move my hands in anymore or would have 2
jeans
Dublin Thermal trousers (Godsend!)
Socks and then extra thick thermal socks
mucker boots as the only ones that will go over the socks
oh and a scarf.

Don't feel a thing under that lot, did get a bit warm mucking out this morning though. It takes an extra 15mins to leave the house getting that lot on but I'm a wimp.

i wear a t shirt, a fleece, a fleece jacket, then a huge waterproof winter coat, and of course my silly nordik hat, 2 pairs of socks or a thermal pair and thermal pants!

My fingers were burning from being sooo cold last night, luckily my feet never get cold with my thermal socks and thermal fur lined yard boots!

im a *cold* person, but only outside when riding as work in an office all day.

*cashmere cami
*thermal long sleeve
*cotton polo neck
*cashmere V neck
*quilted jacket
*waterproof jacket with thick fur collar

*tights
*thermal leggings
*winterweight breeches
*silk socks, thermal socks, wooly socks(can only just get my boots zipped lol!!)

Out on the yard all day and it was -13 this morning.

Wearing a good quality high necked ski fleece
fleece neck warmer
fleece hat
fleece gloves
Musto thermal sailing trousers
ski socks
Ariat thermal long boots (superb)
Musto fleece (when I am not mucking out, shoveling snow, lugging water buckets about, etc)

I normally feel the cold really badly (got mild frost bite when skiing!) but am lovely and toasty.

Jeans, normal socks, t shirt, fleece and jacket if snowing

Jacket off for mucking out and still sweating afterwards.

OH on the other hand has t shirt, base layer fleec, thick fleece, thinck jacket, gloves, hat, thick socks and still says he's too cold

I wear:

Tshirt
Fleece
Zip-up hoody (2 if really cold!)
Thick winter coat
Really thick gloves
Ear-flap hat =]
Neck warmer thing
Leggings
Jodpurs/jeans
Full thermal chaps
Two pair of socks!

I feel the cold more than normal people =P

Sweatshirt, fleece jacket until yesterday when I found my ex-police jacket, trackie bottoms, one pair normal sock and wellies.

I play with ponies all day too ...

Top half:
Thermal vest or thermal long sleeved top
Polo shirt
V-neck jumper
Sweatshirt
Gilet
Musto coat

Bottom half:
Thermal leggings/breeches
Breeches
Mountain Horse overtrousers
Thermal socks

I have an array of hats and scarves/snoods, but haven't found anything better than SealSkinz gloves yet.

Bootwise - generally, something thermal and waterproof! When I'm riding, I try to get away with staying in yard boots, but otherwise will pop an extra layer of socks and ride in paddock boots and gaitors ... I'm certainly not freezing to death in my leather riding boots!
