my other half rides , he got back into it aged 39 now 52 and events his two horses at be novice level , both my grown up sons ride but dont compete , none of them come on here but oh does read posts over my shoulder !!!!

I'm a male and started properly riding as an adult about 18 months ago. Always wanted to ride, and recent developments have now given me the time to take lessons.

I've always though horses were quite cool though, even as a kid. But having originally been born in America where riding is an equal gender thing and sometimes even 'macho', I never did understand this female bias to riding here in the UK.

Though I can say being one of the few men at the yard has its advantages! ;)

Been working in yards and riding since I was 9 until I was 20 when I ran off and joined the Navy.. Came back in to riding a few years ago now I'm a civvy and currently have two gorgeous Bay TB's (Mare & Gelding) and a job that lets me spend as much time with them as I like :)

Only just joined the forum as all you women scare me..

Honest to god jh you're losing you're touch, when oz says 'can you bring your horse to Scotland?' you reply... 'I don't know, do you have your own land and stables?' ;)
