I hate towing and am a complete fairy about it. But Ron loads himself, and stands like a saint and comes out calm, but like you OP I hate the thought of having to brake sharply, or going somewhere I don't know in case I get stuck, or the thought of someone going into the back/side of the trailer. Basically, the thought of anything that could hurt my lad. 
but, I figure if I don't drive, I'll never be able to go hunting or eventing or to the beach, and the thought of that is almost worse!
