I'm interested to know! It seems like everyone does, apart from me!

I know I often talk like I own Ned, but I don't. I've never really 100% owned one, but I used to (my parents used to) loan ponies when I was really young.
Still, I couldn't be happier that I get to ride Ned and pretty much do what I like with him. I think I have a pretty good deal :D

Anyway, I'm just rambling XD
Who owns a horse!
 
I own one pony for the kids and have a horse on trial at the moment until vetting and all is done. I shared two horses before I stumbled over an advert for Bud.

Used to have lots of shared pony when I was little until I bought my own as a teenager. Mind you had a 15 years gap now due to work and having kids. Now I'm back and addicted ;)
 
4faults: He's a funny chap! He won't go out alone, he won't go in the trailer, he rears, he kicks and he's an all round terror. However! He's a good project for me. We go at little baby steps and so far we've managed getting on the lunge and I've finally managed to ride alone in the school! He's pretty nice to be around, depending on his mood :P If he's excited or nervous, he just moves ALL the time. But sometimes he falls asleep when I groom him :P
He's got a fantastic jump on him! Despite being a standardbred, he's good at making tight turns and he can actually jump pretty high :D
 
I do :) he's my first horse and I worry over him all the time! I don't know how people manage with more than one! You sound like you have a good set up with Ned (is that his real name? I love it!)
 
Not me!

I have had a few on loan at various times, and was very strongly considering buying one of my loan horses this summer, however I decided to move abroad instead! He wasn't exactly 'for sale' so I didn't feel too bad about not taking him, he's staying with his mum.
 
I don't own any at the minute. I used to have 3 very old hunters that i hacked out and just had a bit of fun with until they got to the age that they were ready to just be companions. One of them is still alive and lives on my grandads farm now. He's 32 and a nanny to any cade lambs he ever has. I still work with horses but have 2 young children so when they're a bit older and i have more money i'll think about buying one again. It's just enough to work with them at the moment. :)

they range from my 2nd pony, my ex loan pony who was signed over to me for a wedding pressie, to a 29 year old, right through to a foal that is 4 weeks old....
I never ride anymore but its not all about riding (dont ride due to my newly crooked fingers since breaking my hand last year, other health issues and lack of time as i also have toddler twins!)
 
Yup, I own 3 out of my 4, the other is on loan. Since 2 are retired and one's a baby, in a strange little twist of fate, the loan girlie is the only one I can actually ride! :rolleyes:
 
Four.

One retired pony (aged and a sod under saddle).
One semi-retired pony (D1's first pony, has a sacroiliac joint issue).
One horse (D1's - hopefully her showjumper :D).
One horse (mine, Trainee Dressage Diva :D).

Your pony sounds grand :D
 
I do, after 30 years of riding I finally took the plunge and bought first horse earlier this year. I share her with my husband, who learnt to ride about 12 years ago.
 
I was going to say five but then realised I'd counted wrong.

I have my daughter's first pony, a Section A, out on loan
Another child's pony, a Section C, which I saw at a time when my friend's daughter needed one and bought to loan to her.
My daughter's second pony, a Section D, who is retired and currently out being a companion but shortly to come home.
A little TB mare, who is in foal and was bought to stop me missing another little mare I had to sell as no rider. She'll be going where the old Welsh boy was.
A KWPN with a sense of humour, who is in work when he is sound enough, after doing himself a major injury being a pillock.

I had my first pony on loan when I was 21. Since then I have ended up with 6. Two on loan and the rest are for my kids. I do drive but due to health issues I cant ride anymore, I just love having them around me and love looking after them and helping with the RDA.
 
I have 3, two are retired , one through djd, one who worked hard and is enjoying retirement at 27.
I also have a tb 7yo who after injury last year is, back eventing at lower level at the moment.
