I'm glad this has been resurrected as I am selling my lorry (for same reason as OP) and once it has sold will get a 4x4 and trailer. Having read that some of you go off and ride elsewhere, how do you manage the security of the 4x4 and trailer being left on its own? I would love to go to the beach, but the only parking spot I know is quite deserted, and I'm a bit worried about the trailer being stolen?
Also what do you all use as a mounting block? I can't mount from the ground and always use my lorry steps
I'm not so bothered about taking my horse out and about on my own, as she is very easy and calm and will stay on the trailer or tied up to the side until the cows come home. But any tips from those of you who have changed over from a lorry to a trailer would be great.
Small, set of steps to mount from and just lock everything up. If I was going somewhere really remote then I would rethink the handbag and only take what I can take out with me. A lot of car parks are thief magnets and sticking your bag in a boot etc won't protect you ( it didn't with me..they broke the boot open).
