How many of you returned to riding after 20+ years?

My gap was 20 years. Have now been back in the saddle for the last 8 years and love it more than ever. Have to say no bad points at all so far (fingers crossed!) Mainly a happy hacker now (cantering any verge possible on the way) A friend & I do as many fun rides as we can & have to say they're awesome! Can't beat the rush of galloping through the open fields! I love it all, even when the rain is horizontal & have to go & feed, poo pick the field etc, there's just something about just being around my lovely girl! Keeps me sane! Love it! :D

Good on ya! Have to say you summed it all up - even the horrid jobs and bad weather are all worth it for the rewards of tucking in and feeding your beloved at the end of every day and seeing them first thing every morning - once hooked, always hooked!!
 
i had a 20 year gap and found i had a mental block about cantering, so my best moment after i'd had the horse 2 years was letting her go flat out up a stubble field. it was a nice big hill and i thought she would be knackered half way up and slow down..little minx was still flat out when we reached the top but she did stop when asked and i stayed on! most embarrassing moment was after a lesson and i got back onto the yard and the world and his brother were also on the yard, jumped off the horse, legs didnt work and i ended up on my butt in front of everyone. horse put her head down to me and i swear if she could talk she would have said get up,your embarrassing me! lol
