I was just wondering.
How many people out their still rely on their mothers to help with the horses! I am way past my teens and have two children of my own but my mum is still my god send in that she comes and grooms for me at every competition and also helps muck out in the mornings when I am at work. Without her life with horses would be very different and much harder. Just wanted to say a big thank you to all the Mums out there - whatever the age!

I adore my mum! She is my groom and a shoulder to cry on, and a bank, and ...she is getting better at taking photos

Today she was my able clipping assistant and demonstrated her twitching skills. Really dont have a clue what I would do without my parents

I am 22 and mum looks after my horse when I am at uni as my car died this summer and cant afford a new car. When we did have a trailer, she would take me to competitions too.
At the moment mum will always be there to look after her if I was to get a job abroad when i finish Masters.

Make the most of it, I lost mine nearly 7 years ago, but before she died she was fab doing pony jobs and housework etc for me while I worked full time. I miss her like mad and it makes me smile when I see posts like yours, give your mum a hug for me and make the most of her everyday she is like all mums very special.

my mum and dad have only met my horses a couple of times (in fact the 4 year old they have never met and i've had him 11 months!

My mum is in her sixties (Im 40+) but adores helping out with the horses & watching her grandchildren compete. It would be a much longer day without her! I would like to say a BIG thanks mum your one in a million xxx

Me, my Mum is a saint!

The horses are stabled at her house so she is always doing late night checks, does them when I'm sick. She comes to competitions with me as groom, chef & sports psychologist. She's fab!

My mum's coming with me to dressage tomorrow. She comes out in the lorry with me whenever she's not busy, just to help and keep me company. Isn't that lovely?

Plus my dad's not bad either - he paid for the lorry.

I'm 17 and my Mum helps me with loads of stuff she wasn't horsey until I was but she's really helped as much as she can which I really appreciate, it was lovely to get home from Dressage this evening and find my stables were all mucked out, although I have to say my Dad helps loads too

I think my mum has seen my horse once! Neither my parents are horsey, but my dad is very good at horsebox repairs and fencing and my mum (bless her) hands me a tenner when I'm going to an event (I don't like to burst her bubble and tell her that I will be spending about £100 in a day after entry fee and diesel!)

I am so glad that so many for you have great mums. I really feel that the horse world would grind to a halt without them! My heart also goes out to all of you whos mums are not around to help any longer, I really can not begin to imagine my life without mine

I got my passion for horses from my Mum, who had a horse when I was a child, and a pony of my own followed a few months of lessons. We then "did" horses together for 35 years, helping and supporting each other. Up until about 5 years ago she would still help out with turning out, feeding, hay etc, but now she's in her mid 70's prefers not to be hands on any more (and I would be terrified of her being knocked over, trodden on etc) but still comes to watch me at shows and lessons. As others have said, cherish your Mum's part in your horsey life, I have so many fantastic memories of the things we have achieved together.

My mum's a massive help, she's up every morning to help me muck out my 5 and her own pony. She helps turn them out, bring them in, groom, drives the lorry for me every time i compete and loads of other stuff and is on hand ready to help 24/7!! Couldn't do the 6 of them without her!!

She's getting better with a camcorder these days too!! Haha!!

My mum couldnt pick my horse out of a line up if he was the only bay there.
She refuses to buy me horsey related gifts at xmas or birthdays and cant understand why i dont just sell him so i have more money to go shopping!
I swear im adopted!

My mum drove my friend and I from Milton Keynes to Nurthumberland on the Monday in the truck then got the train home on Monday night (she literally parked the truck, had half an hour to chill while friend and I penned up then went to the station). Got the train from MK to Northumberland on the Saturday and drove us home Sunday evening.....We pulled in through the yard gates at quarter to 1 monday morning.

My mum is fricking awesome!

im 21 and i love my mum too bits she does everything for me from mucking out and riding mine during the winter when im at work to walking beside me in the p*ssing rain when i was hacking my new horse on its own driving me places , buying me the horses and helping me out when it comes to farrier time and its the end of the month and she still makes my dinner

I lost my dad when i was 14, he was a typical horseman through and through. So it was down to my mum to deal with the pony when i was at school, he was a little sod to say the least, bite & kick for no reason, she would muck out and bring in for me. Now im in my 30's she has been to some comps, keeps a wide distance from the horse i have now
grin.gif
, still feels sick when she see's me gallopin off at cross country event but has helped me hugely financially. Couldn't be without her...love ya mum!!

Yep, me too. OH comes out occasionally, but Mum is always there to groom, train, walk the courses (I do have to remind her that I CAN walk the lines on my own now!
grin.gif
) and as emergency horse do-er if I am stuck at work or the weather turns half way through day or I run out of feed!

THANKS MUMS

Neither of my parents is horsey, but they did drive me to lessons all the time as a kid. Now, they're usually on a different continent from me...but they still listen patiently to my stories about the Spooky Pony.
