Always use bandages front and back...had a very horrible experience years ago when travelling one horse in a trailer - he kicked a hole through the floor when travelling about 20mph...very scary and bandages definately saved his legs. Luckily he was fantastic and loaded and travelled again no problem but learnt a very harsh lesson re checking the floor more regulary.

I don't anymore.
I used to and I would get a whole lot of banging and clanging.
Now he is unshod I didn't see any reason to boot him up anymore. When I stopped, he stopped all the stomping.
Boots aren't going to prevent a serious injury but I can totally understand why people boot up a shod horse.

allways, how gutted would you be to find after a long jorney to a show you could not compete as it has bably cut its leg, not worth the risk

I always use 4 overreach boots and bandages, and the gamgee I use underneath covers the knees and hocks. I've never had one object to bandages but I have had a couple that didn't like boots.

Neither of ours tolerate them and only ever me driving them. They travel well without them but we are lucky to be spoilt by lovely box or trailers.

If someone else is driving I attempt to bandage them but they kick like hell with anything on!

I said sometimes as I travel all horses bar one in travelling boots, she just won't tolerate back boot/bandages.Its safer to travel her without.
