How many of your horses...

weaving!

tried everything else before i got a stable guard - stable mirrors/toys/consistant playing and distractions!!

- She was over worked and now she can be very nervy,..but shes got alot better!

she only weaves in the box before big event happen,..like going to the field, or when i come in and give my other girl attention! - so,..shes just attention seaking really!!!

Hannah always bangs the stable door when it is breakfast/tea time, but other than that she doesn't do anything else. Grace box walked quite a bit when I got her as she had never been stabled for long periods before, but a stable mirror helped that no end!

Ours windsucks - it's declared on his vet cert. as "Vices declarable - windsucking and sweetitch" - however, reading this most of you would think of what he does as cribbing, he holds a fence rail in his teeth and gulps in air - does no damage to the fences like I'd expect from a true cribber

J used to box walk if he wasn't let out before 7am.

not really
although bey starts to paw the ground in excitment when she sees anyone in case they may be coming over to give her some love!
shantih will eat wood occasionally, but such a good girl hardly ever touches the door even when on box rest!

As we have been told by lecturers (by 2 different ones) a cribber takes something in its' mouth in order to suck air in, a windsucker has nothing in its' mouth when sucking air in.

That's what I'd always believed.

Star is a cribber, even though she lives out now. Her old owner kept her stabled almost constantly for 7 years

It was the only reason I could afford such a good horse when I bought her as it reduced her price. I don't think I'd own another one though - too much hard work with the fencing!
