mine is 10... and has had at least four owners that I am aware of, (I only know his history for the past two years) so I would think he has had many more.

I will be selling him within the next couple of years.

Holly we bought as a 3yo and we are her second home

Blue we bought as a just 3yo from travellers at Ashford market so i don't know how many places he had been before they had him really. We are probably his first 'proper' home

Im the 9th and we bought him at 12.

The lady who bred him sold him at 3 to someone who literally broke him in and decided he was too much. He was then sold to a YR dressage rider who rebroke and brought him on and kept him til he was 7 (she later became my trainer)

She took him to the lassetters yard with her where he was sold to another YR as a dressage prospect but im not really sure what happened here as he was then passed onto a none dressagey home.

He ended up with a guy who did some eventing with him and from there got sold to a girl ive been in touch with who bought him as a RC / eventer. He scared the hell out of her and she contacted my trainer to see if she wanted him back.

He then went to a student of said trainer to do more eventing... she didnt get on with him so back to the trainer again.

We then bought him at 12 as his 9th home. He wont go anywhere again now.

With my current horses. I was the 3rd owner of my pony (who was 5 when I bought him 15 yrs ago!) and his companion shetland (who was 3 then). My grey I bought when he was 5 and I think I was probably his 4th owner. And my Welsh Cob I believe I was his 2nd owner, bought him as a 3yo.

My arab I am his 2nd owner apart from his breeder - previous owner got him at 6 months, then kept him til she put him on loan and later sold him to me at 7.
As for my mare and OH's mare....god only knows!! My mare came from Ryan Prater's dad Vin, who had taken her in part exchange for an older slower model! But he didn't know much else about her apart from she came from Russia as a 3 year old. OH's mare belonged to my instructor for 3 years, but before that had a fair few homes in our area as a girl I know reckons she knew her as a 4 year old.
My gelding is coming up 11, my mare coming up 17, and OH's mare nearly 14. I've had gelding 4 years, mare 11 years and OH's mare 1.5years, and all now have a home for life. Worst case scenario they'd go out on loan, I wouldn't sell any of them.
