How many people love mares?

Even if they're tough nuts to crack its usually worth it in the end! I've had geldings but never bonded with them like I have my mares.
 
Definately a mare person here or stallion but that is what i am used to working with.
Dont think i could go back to a gelding now.
 
I have three mares and over the years owned both sexes. However the success with my mares has always been to have my yard mares only. It really works for me not to have a mix and stops lots of problems.

I feel that a good mare will give you her heart and look after you and herself. I much prefer them.
 
The mare I used to loan had the most amusing little character trait. If she stopped (usually at a puddle in a gateway) and I asked her to go on she would just stamp a hind leg on the ground in reply. And every time I would squeeze she would stamp in response. I knew then that she had pretty well made her mind up about it. The stamp was her way of saying, 'listen, I like to please you but this time you're taking it too far - I'm not walking through that and it's final!'
