I was only thinking about this at the weekend. I get 2 heaped wheelbarrows of poo off my paddock with my 2 geldings on it. I try and de-poo morning and evening to spread the work in this heat
On ad lib grass, about 16 a day. But that only happens for about one month a year when they first get let onto winter grazing. I try to maintain them at about 10 a day when on restricted grazing (to prevent fatness). Any less for more than a couple of days and they go all dark and hard so can't be good in my view. Even if the paddock looks bare, if there is tons of poo they must be eating something!
22-26 per day ! on just grass and a track system to keep weight off. he does have quite a fair amount of grass still but track only went up last week when his weight suddenly shot up over 1 week. I am hoping the poo frequency goes down soon as it is ridiculous currently !! however it does make me do it every day as there is no way it can go 2 . he needs a decent track to give him access to his friends over the fences on both sides as he is on his own in field.
IBG - I'll be poo picking too at that stage (pregnancy allowing obviously) although mercifully it should be cooler by then, unless we have an Indian summer like a couple of years ago
I'm another saddo who counts the poos as she collects them
My 17.2 poo-monster does around 20-24 in a 24 hour period Full barrow every day. However, if I poo-pick twice a day, he seems to do 16 in a 12 hour period - consistently I'm sure he is just trying to get me fit
