I know.......the worst thing is, the majority of them aren't even that useful - it's not like I've got 12 nice heavyweight turnouts laying around! Just lots of coolers, fleeces, travel rugs, stable rugs etc.
At the moment he has 9 'options' hanging in his stable to allow for every weather eventuality.....
my horses has
3 h/w turnout full neck rugs
2 h/w indoor full neck rugs
1 summer sheet
1 full neck felce
1 m/w full neck indoor
3 m/w standard turnout rug
erm... far too many! Lots of them are at home 'to be put on ebay' but I've never got round to doing it. I have managed to sell 6 rugs on ebay in the last month though so at least I've made an effort.

So 23! for one horse! Noooooo. 24 - summer sheet too!!!!!
AND need to get a new HW with sep neck as hers don't fit too well and want a LW fusion stable rugs as it fits better than her current LW. WIll share this rugs with a foal once it grows up though!!!!
My husbands thoroughbred has 6 rugs and i thought that was alot lol.
Although his horse is quite hard on rugs, he loves to try and escape from them and ends up ripping them, ive no idea how he did it, but last week he managed to rip a surcingle off the rug he was wearing, there is nothing in the stable that he could have caught it on!
Is there a Rugaholics anonymous. I need help quick! My horse has 10 different turnout rugs alone. That's in addition to all his stable rugs, sweat sheets, flysheets, exercise sheets,.... My friend has sadly just lost her horse so she has just kindly given me all of her rugs to me too. I need a new house to store them all!
My work colleagues have told me I need to go to Horse Rugs Anonymous. I just love buying my horses things - they are my surrogate children - so when on ebay/in tackshop etc - I think 'so and so would good in that rug' and end up buying it.
I have three horses and probably close to 50 rugs !!! I do use them all at some time or another - you can't have too many spares (especially when weather is wet).... see I'm starting the excuses now ......
Has anyone checked at those new Niki rugs ??? I had to have the pink one for Angel. www.niksi.co.uk
OK, you guys all have a fatal addiction - But then again I live in a WARM climate and I have 3 horses and probably about 30 rugs!!!!! (Only 2 of those were bought for the newest horsey)
But I hate to see them in dirty things so I have loads of summer sheets and indoor rugs so they can go through the wash. So they wear something for maybe a week or so and then it gets washed. I have a problem I think!!
Yeah... sneaky ad almost, I need (see its NEED not WANT) a Weatherbeeta fusion thin stable rug, 6' or 6'3", and a Weatherbeeta Taka but the fusion style, same size, with standard neck and seperate neck cover...
Just in case anyone finds one that needs somewhere new to explore....
Wow I feel quite virtuous!
I only have what I need and am ruthless in getting rid of old, unwanted stuff at our charity tack sales
Off the top of my head I have...
2 x turnouts
1 x lightweight turnout
1 x stable (never used but a just in case)
1 x waterproof excercise
1 x fluroescent exercise
1 x cooler
1 x posh travel
8 in total!
Can't really see the need for any more plus others on the yard have billions lying around if we were really in drastic need.
I guess it all depends what you do with them too, April just comes in whenever weather turns bad so alternating turnouts gives them the chance to dry off.
I also don't feel I do enough in the winter to justify clipping and she is fine haired enough to get away with it.
too many - think Ebi has got about 18 all to herself and shes retired and not using any of them!!!
just had a quick count up and I think ive got 75 rugs for the 4 horses - Willow the foal has only got 1!
