How Many Rugs ?

I actually don't know how many i've got- a lot!!! Probably around 45-50 for 5 horses!

I've just been tidying the tack room. I've been telling myself for ages that most of the rugs are my cousins, it is only when i came to sort them I relised most of them our mine

Welshie has none (but occasionally borrows an old thermatex to dry off before riding). Old girl has 4 rugs.

I am quite proud of myself - only own 8 and getting another one for Christmas - although that does equate to one every 2 months of horse ownership!!!!!!!!!

PS If I could get a deal on 'that' Shires red turnout I'd own 10 rugs!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't even got that excuse... all of the rugs are Ruby's the mare and foal don't have a rug between them... (hangs head in shame)

I dont understand- when i had a horse he had 2 turnouts, 1 stable rug and a travel rug- how may does one horse need?
Oh plus a neck cover not sure if that counts!

I have a bit of an addiction... so my mare has four coolers, six turnouts, and two stable rugs... so 12 so far, and I still have a list of new rugs I "need"!

I just bought my 29th for my boy ... I now have 2 in each weight both stable and turnout and numerous fleeces etc ... I think I also have one of each with and without a neck! Oh dear, do I have a problem?? I don't buy for colour either, I buy for practicality so I must have a problem thinking he needs that many!

2 hw 2 mw and 2 lw turnouts from last year,
no stable rugs as loose housed in barn and come and go as they please.
2 thematex, 4 masta coolers, 2 exercise rugs reflective one fleece lined one plain, and 6 of the mesh anit-sweat rugs.

Turnout

1 heavy weight, 3 medium weights (long story), 1 lightweight. 2 fly sheets.

Indoor

1 heavy weight stable, 1 medium weight stable, 3 fleece coolers, 3 sweat rugs (seem to collect them!!!). 1 exercise sheet, 1 rain sheet.

Have you never heard the legally enforcible 'Law of Horse Rugs' Thou shalt never have too many ? and the rule of thumb: one on, one off and one in the wash? That's 3 to begin with!

yep, then you need one in each weight so that's lightweight, 40g, 100g, 110g, 150g, 200g, 220g, 250g, 300g, 360/70g, 400g, 420g ...

I have got about 15 for 1 horse though you cant blame me for buying them as he came with them from his owner. lol
