How many small haylage bales can you fit into an ifor williams 505...

As many as your vehicle will tow only - don't get caught out on weights like I did!!

I'd say only between 20-30 as any more will be over the limit for most vehicles if bales are 30kgs each...

Actually...ignore my last reply...I mis read haylage for hay! Sorry!:)
Just a thought though...is the trailer not used normally? If you had an emergency and need to get horse to vet, would you have to use this trailer? Had an incident a few years ago and vowed to always keep trailer free thereafter.

42? Ahh brilliant-thank you! Yes this is my only trailer, however I have no where else to store it and have lots of family on hand to unload trailer if god forbid theres an accident. But worth bearing in mind thank you. I intend to move it all to the very small mini barn I have when its free (not that I have it yet!)

The massive tarp and pallets I do have are currently being used on the round bales, so really dont have anywhere else. I know, I'll find me a millionaire farmer with lots of land, all my problems solved :D

84 x 20kg EH Haylage bales. That is one complete pallet of 42 bales put on as it is, (pallet only JUST fits) then another pallets worth of 42 bales fitted loose around front and on top of these. Been collecting them like this on my Ifor 505 for past couple of years.

How you manage that? My 42 was a tight fit! Maybe my bales are bigger...

Last time i picked up 32 bales and i would say 3/4s of the trailer was full so room for more and they werent particularly well stacked!

If you use your trailer to hold any significant weight of anything (eg more than a couple of hundred kg) you must jack it up and block it up to take the weight off the tyres. You will ruin the tyres VERY quickly by leaving a large static load on them .
