How many T/O rugs do you actually use?

Between 2 horses of the same size:

2 lightweight t/o
4 mediumweight t/o of various makes
2 heavier ones, one with a half neck, one without
I like having spares for when the rugs haven't dried out overnight

We use them all at various times through the winter, the lightweights have even doubled up as stable rugs when it was very snowy. The horses share a very odd assortment of stable rugs and coolers too.

Hmm well my elderly TB has a lot. But he now lives out, and I like to keep him comfy!! So
He has two light weights (one new, one older)

he has a full neck 100g fill, for cold rainy days.

Three 220g with no necks although two have a neck cover that I can attach.
I had one with the neck attachment, but it was very old and had rips etc and had already been mended loads. I replaced it with the same but the new version weighed a ton and was worse when wet. I don't like using it in my old horse so bought another without neck.

One 220g full neck

One old Fal pro med- heavy weight. Full neck

One rambo 360g full neck.

One Orican (maybe??) full neck also heavy weight.

Thats all I can remember.

The good thing is, my 'new' horse also fits into the rugs, so I tend to use the newer ones for my old boy and the others for the new boy.

Mine boy has;
1 light weight no fill standard
1 light weight combo
1 medium/light weight standard
1 medium weight combo
1 medium weight combo-spare dont use unless other is very wet
1 heavy weight combo

I have stables rugs for every temp.

Another one with loads of rugs here - although less than I used to!

2 x 100g turn out (one with removable hood)
1 x 200 g t/o with removable hood
1 x 300 g t/o with removable hood
1 x 450 g t/o with removable hood

I also have a couple of rug liners and stable rugs and a fleece! :D

I too am a converted rug a holic, mainly due to my husband realising that when I said that B needed it, he actually probably already had three in that weight! So i now also manage with two LW one MW and one HW, as my boy doesn't tend to get very cold so he rarely uses the HW, I think if they are good rugs that fit well you don't need as many. (I still have a look at the lovely new smelling rugs whenever i'm in a shop though!!!)

My two ponies are the same size so can mix and match if required.

Old boy, v hairy and unclipped, in at night - has a no fill and a 40g and that's the only 2 rugs he will probably need all winter as gets warm. However, need to get a new no fill as current one is a rubbish red Amigo that leaks..

New boy, blanket clip, lives out 24/7 - 70g for days, 200g for nights at the moment but it's getting colder so will up it soon. Have another spare 200g, a 300g and a 450g - all with necks as he is a coloured that likes a good roll in the mud.. Will probably only use the 450g if it gets really cold again like last year, so will hopefully only use the 3 rugs over winter.

Have fleeces/under-rugs/stable rugs in all weights but rarely use them.

Shetlands do not own a rug between them so 0 for them :)

i have 4 T/O's 1l/w with detachable neck (now packed away until spring :( ) 1 m/w with detacheable neck 1 m/w half neck (worn if sunny) 1 h/w with attached neck. BUT my weakness a trillion fleeces/wool rugs/ waffles/ stable rugs plus lycra hoods/shoulder gaurds...he looks like michelin man in winter!! and his stable boots and at this rate tunrout boots as YO doesnt want him getting cold legs now they clipped!
