Ah well, at the moment I'm at the yard all day, BUT I'm not physically with PF all day... Otherwise I see her twice a day, and am at the yard 2-3 hours each time.
During the week I go down before work for about an hour to turn out, muck out etc and then again after work for 2.30hr. I spend most of the weekend at the yard as with any days off!
I go up once a day in the week, for 2-3 hours, and twice a day at the weekends.
Today, just to be awkward, I'm having 3 visits, - went up at 8 to skip out and remove rugs, will be going up at 12 for my riding lessons, and then again at 6 to bring in and feed them their tea.
it varies, i am there twice a day nearly every day, unless I arrange for somebody elso to be there. A rush in the mornings to feed, hay, water sometimes turn out, sometimes muck out..evenings is catching in and doing any jobs left over form the morning..so in total about 2 hours a day during the week.
Weekends - I am pretty much there all day catching up on stuff that just gets done quickly through the week
Bit difficult to answer in places for me lol
Im at the yard from 7am daily and dont leave until just before 9am. This is mainly to just do morning stables but occasionally i will ride or lunge at least one of them.
Lunchtime (only during the winter) go back up and skip out and re-hay - unfortuantely this week its not possible everyday due to staffing shortages GROAN.
Then from 5pm Im at the yard riding, lunging the other horse plus skip out and do evening stables. Mind you, lately i have been leaving work around 3:30-4 and going home just after 6.
I have 3 of my own to do, plus YOs so individually they dont get an hours attention but between 2-3 hours are spent pottering around with all of them
Normally head out at lunch time to check on foalie and if its a good dry day chuck her out , then head out in the evening to feed and give her a brush and a few manner lessons
In the week i am up there for about an hour to feed, muck out, turnout then after work it's about 2-3 hours to bed down, hay, water, bring in,groom, ride or something at the weekend it,s longer in the morning and less in the evening.
in the mornings i put out mine and my friends horse on tuesday, wednesday and friday and she does monday thursday sunday but i will always go up at night unless theres a reason why i cant. so it varies 1-2 times a day
occasionaly its 3 but very rarely
it depends if i ride or not as to how much time i spend with
sometimes he just gets chucked out in the mornig and brought in at night with a 5-10 min play, others il spend 1/2hr-1hr brushing and playing plus 1hrs hack so it varies from day to day
When at home, I used to go up for about 6.50am, get home about an hour later, would change rugs, turn out, muck out (and disinfect if needed), fill nets, put nets up etc whilst my Mum walked ze dog. Then on an evening, I'd usually go up for about quarter to 4, then get picked up at about 6. Except in summer when I'd just go up once a day as on 24/7 grazing, got automatic water troughs in field and other liveries and yard staff checking on them, so would just come up to groom, give a bath, ride etc.
during the week, twice a day on average - during the weekend, seem to spend most of my time with horse...especially if going to show, or not much at all!
I'm probably at the yard for about 30 minutes in a morning and maybe an hour at night - longer if I ride. I can lose myself for hours at the weekend there though!!!
I go in the morning to muck out, feed etc, about 30 minutes to an hour.
In the afternoon/ lunchtime I go down to turnout or take him for a long walk, skip out etc. If I turn out i muck him out well and prepare evening stuff. about 30 mins to 2 hours, depending on what TO arrangements are.
About 4pm I go down and bring in or take him to graze in-hand. Feed, groom, muck out etc etc, though i do have some help from the kids who groom for me and soak hay etc. Time spent giving him lots of fuss. About an hour.
durning the week i go up there in the evening to do the work ect for about 2 hours
at the weekend im usually up there once in the morning then back again later on, spending about 2 -3 hours at a time
In winter I'm up 2 or 3 times a day. I go up at half 6 to put him out and muck out (about 15 mins), then I go back up and ride either at about half 9 or half 2. Then I go back up at 8 to bring him in, usually up for about an hour. In the summer I'm usually up once a day for a few hours if I'm riding, or about 10 mins if I'm not!
At the moment he's on full livery & I am working mad hours so only see him two evenings during the week I get out early & am there from 6.30/7 til 9.30 and on a Friday night we're going jumping locally at the mo so it could be 11 by the time we're finished.
weekends from 11 - 2 usually on both days....I would be spending a lot more time BUT trying to butter up OH who feels a bit neglected in advance of getting stables built & having him home with me full-time....(aiming for July at the mo.)
I go up once a day 5 days a week and spend at least 2 hours and normally 4 hours at the yard pottering about, exercising and generally having time with them.
I see my horses for the first time at 5.30am (or thereabouts) when I got outside to either fetch cows in for milking (summer) or send them around from cubicle shed (winter - currently). They all get a little bit of hay then. Only spend about 10 minutes in the stable then though.
Next seem them at 9am when kids are all at school. I either skip out if they are staying in or being ridden after breakfast (my brekkie that is) and hay them again or I groom, rug up, grease heels etc and turn out. I then poop pick, check for ragwort etc, move electric fencing. Usually spend a good hour and a half with them then.
If I ride, another good groom, short massage session. Hacking only at the moment as fields are too wet. Ride for on average 2 hours at a time. Untack, groom again, check legs, pick feet, rug and turn out.
Muck out all four stables properly mid afternoon. Takes aboout 50 mins
Fetch mine in about 5.30pm at the moment. All get feet picked, checked for cuts and grazes and I do hose and dry legs off of Patches to free her pores of the udder ointment she gets put on in a morning. Of course, if they've not been out for any reason, I just muck out and put a fresh layer of bed down and more hay, pick feet out still and check legs.
Make up horse's teas. Chat to them all in turn for a bit as I'm sweeping up. All in all that's probably another hour and a half I'm out there.
Last check on them between 11 and midnight and they get a bit more hay before I retire for sleep.
Don't know how I'd fit a full time job in around that! I spend far too much time out there don't I? Perhaps I should put a bed in a spare stable!
ATM I am only at the yard weekends and 2-3 days in the week, but am up there for about 6-8 hours. Of course I'll be up there more often now
I look after the other horses on my days so feed, turn out muck out them and bring in. I also put hay out for the field monsters and normally grab one in for a groom/ feed/fuss each day if I have time.
