Twice a day - once in the morning before work and then again after work in the evening. Currently though I visit my WB 0 times a day, as he is at naughty school and I'm not talking to him until the weekend
lots - they are at home but during the week when I am working once in the morning by me, they then get checked at lunchtime by my mum who like to take a walk to the field, and then again in the evening by me and occasionally i will do a late night check on them as well (as they are both in at night now)
Twice a day; mine are fed, hay and haylaged, groomed and rugs changed morning and night.
If any of them have been unwell or I am concerned, I pop up during the day, or check them at night in the dark, too.
S
morning- to feed/put out and evening to feed/bring in etc.
I live/work near my yard so if they are on box-rest or need checking on I nip down in my dinner hour.
On a weekend i go down to muck out and ride, then pop back later in the day to take daughter riding, then back again at teatime to bring in.....I think my car could do the journey from my house to yard on its own!!!
Twice. It makes my blood boil that there are fields on either side of the yard I'm on and they only get checked once. I don't have a problem if someone else is going to the yard and can make sure there are no problems but these yards are deserted all day with no-one around, other than the once daily visit.
Once a day, after work as he is on full livery and very well looked after. I am also very close friends with people and yard and in adjacent stables to him (yes we swapped round - how sad are we lol) so if i dont think i can make it up after work they will check him for me BUT yard owner is so goo that nothing would get past him.
Twcie day when stable at night in winter
Sometimes only once a day in summer, but YO lives on site and sees paddocks from house and office.
Would call me if anything did not look right.
Ermm well 3 sometimes more, they do live at home tho so once in the morning to feed muck out ride etc, then they come in at lunch time otherwise they explode! and then in the evening to put then to bed. there'll get a pat and a treat if were out there doing something else as well!.
twice a day once at 5 30 when I muck out feed him and his girldfirend and turn them out then again after 7 my friend gets them in and then I can ride when I get down
Loads!! At least three times a day, Only outside the back door, and I'm now retired so its my pure pleasure to go and see them everytime I put the kettle on
3 times a day once they're in at night.
Out about 7.30 am, in about 5pm
Last check & 2nd haynet & quick skip out at 10pm: I had to start doing this when i got my horse as a 4 year old cos he could lean into my mares stable, which was the converted tack room and turn the tap on... poor girl was often stood in a big puddle of wet bedding!
he could aslo pull all the rugs off the rug racks and poo all over them, naughty boy
! Now we're just used to it and I quite enjoy my little late night trip down the garden with the dog.
once a day (horses are out 24-7) sometimes twice at weekends, i find it too much to go before work so ......
am moving yards on saturday and my friend will turn out in mornings / i'll get mine & hers in on evenings (as will be stabled at night at new yard) So technically they will be 'checked' twice a day
She is on full livery, but i am there at 7am for a quick hack before work (make the most of the daylight!) and then again at 5pm after work to re-do rugs, skip out, check water..... I have OCD!!!!!
Am moving to DIY at end of month, so get to do it all myself again!! xx
My boy is on full livery but go at least once a day, am a control freak when it comes to my baby so even if not up there to work him i like to go to turn out, do his tea, make sure he has enough hay, as i am sure YO and i have differences of opinions about these things, as i am sure you guys find!
Once a day now that they've moved to their winter fields which are literally 2 minutes from where I work. I do them at lunchtime which means I can do them in daylight. They are out 24/7, I don't have stables and have no lights/power other than torches. If/when they need hay, I will go again after work and flounder around in the pitch dark!
YO lives onsite so she also gets checked on if needs be.. her house is a stones throw from the yard. infacat my mares stable is the nearest to the house and Gaurd dog! lol so no chance of anything happening or going on without it being noticed.
