horse urinate? I really should know this I guess after many years of horseownership but I have no idea. Horse is currently suffering from laminitis (again) and also has a badly infected frog (both under vet care) but hasn't urinated or drunk once today. Seems happy in himself and has soaked hay so never really drinks much but I am a little concerned. I will be checking again in the morning and I need to speak to my vet tomorrow anyway but just wondered if that was normal. Anyone know please?

When i had a pony with laminitis i noticed he didn,t seem to be weeing he was a gelding, vet told me they try and put it off as painful to get in weeing position

Same as above really, geldings find it painful when suffering laminitis to urinate, and if he's not drinking then he won't urinate as theres nothing to get rid of...
Have you checked to see whether he's dehydrated at all? If you are really worried about him not drinking, then ring your vet, or you could try him with electrolytes to make him drink more, although I wouldn't force him to without your vets okay.
Hope this helps.

Duh can't believe I didn't think of that! Thank you, I will thoroughly check again in the morning before I call the vet and I will mention it to them. His hay is being soaked for 12 hours before he has it so contains a lot of moisture and he is still eating fine so I am not too worried he is dehydrated but I will still discuss it with the vet. Thank you both you have been very helpful.
