how many times a week do you ride?

I am a sharer. Our horse is supposed to be ridden 6 days a week, though often it is 5. He normally has 1/2 lessons, 3/4 hacks and a longer hack or competition in that time.

dont ride my horse at all!!!shes a raving loony who would prob kill me as its been nearly 3yrs since i was last on her back!!!!.............i'm being lazy at the mo as i can ride my friends horses but as i dont need to go to yard at mo then oops my riding amounts has gone down!!!

It all depends on the season/weather/temperatures to be honest.

In the winter I may ride a couple of times a week and in the summer I often ride about 20 times (or more) a week. Spring and autumn, more likely 5 or 6 times a week.

Every day, except the day after an ODE. Usually I ride 2 a day, sometimes 3 or 4. But that's when I'm not at uni.. When I'm at uni I usually ride 4 times a week.

Depends on weather etc but between 3 and 5 max as Bodey is only 4. That includes one ½ hour lesson, maybe a lunge or 1 schooling session, and the rest hacking or playing in the field. We don’t hack for more then an hour at the moment but that may include some canter.

Usually 5 or 6 days a week

And usually hacking - Poor old Oz isn't up to lunging and proper schooling(we do a little bit, just for manners)... Yet...

Mine gets ridden 6 days a week and sometimes twice a day, i try to lunge her twice, school her twice, compete once and jump once and then hack in the evenings

I'm supposed to be riding 7 horses a day atm but currently covering staff time off on the yard so have had to cut it down to 3 or 4. Unfortunately my own horses are the ones that lose out!
I like to exercise them 6 times a week if at all possible.

I ride about 6 times a week, unless weather really bad and manege is like a flooded beach! That includes 2 hacks, and 3-4 schooling with jumping about once every 2 weeks. Sometimes a lesson too in the schooling days or a show.
I ride for about 30-40 mins in the school and the hacks are about 45 mins long.

I ride everyday and never plan a day off. That way if something comes up I don't feel too guilty if he has an evening off. We try to school at least twice a week (when ever we can gain access to an arena) and hack the rest. I try to do at least 1.5 hrs hacking in the evening during the summer, with a long one at the weekend. \you would think with the amount of work the boy does he would look racing fit, but he has never heard of ribs so always looks a little round!

I used to ride 6 days a week for an hour at a time in the week and a good few hours at weekends - mainly hacking on my mare who sadly died last year and 5 times a week on my boy and but since he has been diagnosed with arthritis and spavins he hasnt been ridden since 30th April 2007! I have ridden other peoples horses and try and do it a few times a week but at the moment am mentally drained with trying to keep my boy (a 5 yr old once very active ex-racer) sane in a field till we can establish a way forward!

6 or 7 times for both of them. Depends when they are having a day off that week or not - that includes competing on one day for Archie, and Blossy gets hacked a couple of times a week along with schooling/lunging.

5 times a week - 1 hour in the week each ride and at weekends 1.5-2.5 hours a day

i hardly ever go in the school i do my schooling hacking. i do road work, go around the farm and jump the xc. my pony has mondays off as she works harder at weekends and we are both tired mondays, and thursdays off as i go out with my friends !!

I ride every day and listen to him as to when he needs a day off but he tends to get one to two days off every 10 days. He gets between 4 and 12 miles exercise out hacking per day, if its a short hack we school and jump for 10-30 mins when we get back. If its a long hack or a lesson then he just gets relaxation when arriving home. Unfortunately do to work and weather he's had just about every other day off in the last 10 days. Can't wait to get back into routine!

depends massively on the weather and work commitments. Usually 5 times a week, but sometimes it's 7, sometimes it's 2! he's only just 5 and it doesn't affect him at all whether he is worked or not, and I don't want to overdo it and for him to get bored. We can't hack due to the awful main road and horrendous traffic, and our school is so tiny it makes varying work very difficult

I think it's good for him to have time out just to chill and play in the field.

I ride everyday and only don't if i'm ill or on holiday etc. I ride Rock every day and give him a day off on every 9th day or after a competition or major schooling session with my trainer if it was particularly heavy, but ride as a living too so monday - friday always have clients horses to ride.
