How many times a week do you think you should see your horse?

I'm very sorry for your loss. :(

I'd feel that if I was paying for full livery though, people more experienced than myself would be checking my horse throughout the day.

Thank you for your sentiment. You are absolutely right about those horses in full livery being checked throughout the day. I wouldn't expect anything less.

Shock horror, my horse isn't the only important thing in my life and whilst I love her dearly, I also enjoy the other things in my life too. I have my horse on full livery, and work approx 35 miles in the opposite direction to the stables. Full livery for me is £70 per week and I am entirely happy with her standard of care. I never have to worry bout where her hay is coming from, whether I can be there to hold her for the vet or if I am away for a weekend visiting parents who live 150 miles away. I see my horse sometimes every day, sometimes once a week, and horror of horrors when my dad was terminally ill, I saw her once a month. And I didnt have to worry. I knew she would have her same old routine, be fed, watered, rugged, scratched and cuddled. She knows exactly who I am, and we have a great relationship. Could it be better on DIY? Maybe? But I'm happy and she's happy so what's the problem?
Anyway to answer the original question, at the moment I see her about 3 x per week.
